Selling their lies, a poisoned recipe,

Of discounted love, they want no one to see.

Marketing evil for profit and greed,

They won’t promote our sacred, one true need.

The wait for life to go on sale timed out.

There’s nothing left upon the shelf – all out.

Salvation through God’s currency,

A price already paid but they souled out.

Buying their lies, when pure grace was free.

The sin of self-hate, such misery.

Believing we can do it on our own,

When every day we feel so damn alone.

That emptiness inside ourselves cries out.

The pain of life’s lost meaning screams,

BREAK OUT!

Redemption through God’s mercy,

A gift we received for free, but we souled out.

​

You played life as a gamble, then struck out.

So stop before you’ve lost it all, cash out.

The game was rigged - you still believed,

Agreed to be deceived?  You chose souled out.

​

Don’t follow them, they’ve all souled out.

I should know, I once souled out.

Hear the whisper of God within…Listen,

Don’t be souled out.

Soul to soul, one to one,

Sometimes the knot you tied

seems to be undone.

Not for lack of effort and not for lack of time,

But do the plans you offer meet with mine?

​

And I know you try - I know that you two try,

But there’s no life at home without Divine.

​

Love me first and always,

believe and be satisfied,

Or the love you want, will pass you by.

You see until you’re ready

and the one for you is ready,

I can’t give you the dream I have in mind.

​

Just trust in me,

And believe in the greatest things,

I’ll bring you both together when its time.

​

Down the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem that day,

The soldiers tried to clear the narrow street.

But the crowd pressed in to see,

The Man condemned to die on Calvary.

He was bleeding from a beating,

There were stripes upon His back,

And He wore a crown of thorns upon His head.

And He bore with every step,

The scorn of those who cried out for His death.

Down the Via Dolorosa

called the way of suffering

Like a lamb came the Messiah,

Christ the King.

But He chose to walk that road

out of love for you and me,

Down the Via Dolorosa,

all the way to Calvary.

​

The blood that would cleanse

the souls of all men, 

Made it's way through the heart of Jerusalem.

​

Down the Via Dolorosa

Sometimes I'm blind to the signs,

Sometimes I see and turn the other way.

Sometimes I listen, I listen,

But still do not hear what you have to say.

Sometimes I'm stable,

And sometimes a breeze can blow me away.

Sometimes I'm spiritual, spiritual,

Sometimes I will not be reached today.

​

But later on I realize that you've shown me,

Later on I realize that you're there.

Later on I realize you've told me,

Later on I realize that you care.

Your my rock and my salvation,

This is not a game of solitaire.

​

You said come to me

all you hearts that are weary,

Come to me and I will give you rest.

Just learn from me - gentle and lowly,

Learn from me and your soul will be its best.

​

So bend my heart and save me,

please save me.

Keep my eyes, from what I will regret.

By your word give me life and direct me,

Always be a lamp for my steps.

​

And protect us as we stay awake, stay awake,

Guard over us as we sleep.

That awake we may keep watch

with Jesus Christ,

and lying down we'll rest in his peace.

Woke up this morning, eyes in a haze,

Declined and so blind, I wandered away.

Danced in the world with a veil upon my face,

The familiar imposter slides into place.

​

Set my foot in conviction,

but my hand hesitates,

When you glance at the twilight,

the bright of the sun fades.

​

Am I the seed on rocky ground

withered and swept away?

Or am I sown in thorns

so easily led astray?

​

Want to put on the new man,

in the light of a new day,

Spent time in my prison,

it’s time to escape.

If my walk's to be worthy,

I gotta rise and make it straight,

To the way and the truth and the life,

to strive for the narrow gate.

​

They continue nip me, 

Lord - tip the balance to you.

They give me all kind of reasons

to detonate the fuse.

​

Help me to decide,

To conquer not to divide,

Help me to be free,

Lord, tip the balance to you.

​

Want to put on the new man,

in the light of a new day,

You give me consolation,

my trials you erase.

Bent down but not broken,

gonna rise and get it straight,

To the way and the truth and the life,

to pass through the narrow gate.

It feels like I’m running on empty,

Waitin' for the Lord to send me,

signs that show me the way to freedom.

​

Its like I’ve been mending fences,

But gettin' stuck in the mud defenseless,

while the wolves of the world

are running me over.

​

But I’ve never been higher than I am now.

Down on my knees praying to my Super Power.

I’m letting go of the reins,

show me the way to freedom.

​

I oughta be walking on sunshine,

but instead I’ve been walking a thin line,

On the edge, looking down

and it’s making me dizzy.

​

Ain’t no use in pretending,

Ain’t never gonna find my happy ending,

‘til the Lord shows me the way to freedom.

​

But I’ve never been higher than I am now.

Like a tree in the forest,

I was rooted down.

I grew as the others grew,

Swayed by the wind.

Then I fell upon my knees,

Or maybe I was cut down.

I was the broken one,

On the cold and barren ground.

The fire is strong!

flowed mercy and life.

came a halo so bright.

From the death of a man,

to the rise of the Son,

From a world of tragedy,

From a dark tomb

to incomparable light.

From I will not believe

to a hand in His side.

From fear in the upper room

to tongues of fire!

An inscription on the cross

to the Word inspired.

​

I know I must be born again

to have eternal life,

I know the battle has been won,

but still I have to fight.

A ransom paid for me,

as if I were the only one,

Not worthy to receive,

I am overcome.
